I Vote for Women

Betty McCollum receives a 100% rating from the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce as a champion of women's economic priorities and is endorsed by the Women's Chamber for Minnesota's 4th Congressional District.

“I am proud to announce the endorsement of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce (http://www.uswcc.org) for Betty McCollum in the race for Minnesota’s 4th Congressional District,” stated Margot Dorfman, CEO. “Betty McCollum is a proven and influential leader in Congress for women, economic opportunity, and fiscal responsibility.”

“Rep. Betty McCollum a champion of women’s economic priorities, receiving a one-hundred percent rating from the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce,” continues Dorfman. “McCollum has stepped up to lead on many economic issues impacting women including fair pay, minimum wage, access to healthcare, family-friendly work environments, access to capital and federal contracts for women-owned businesses,” adds Dorfman.

"Betty McCollum is a member of the powerful Appropriations Committee and, recognizing the 20 year failure of the federal government to reach the modest five percent goal for contracting with women-owned firms, has promised to work through the appropriations process to establish enforceable floors for procurement for women-owned small businesses."

“McCollum supports a positive economic environment for women workers and business owners, American job creation, fair pay, a fair minimum-wage, family-friendly workplaces, access to affordable/quality healthcare and birth control, tax policies that support a vibrant middle class and access to capital and federal contracts for women-owned firms,” continues Dorfman.

“Betty McCollum is a member of the powerful Appropriations Committee and, recognizing the 20 year failure of the federal government to reach the modest five percent goal for contracting with women-owned firms, has promised to work through the appropriations process to establish enforceable floors for procurement for women-owned small businesses,” adds Dorfman. “This is the type of influential, strategic leadership women business owners need in Congress to assure our firms have access to our fair share of contracts.”

“Growing the number of strong women leaders in Congress is critical to assuring that women’s economic priorities are advanced,” adds Dorfman. “American prosperity is directly linked to the economic success of women. Seventy percent of women work and seventy-two percent of mothers work. A record forty percent of all households with children under eighteen include mothers who are either the sole or primary source of income for their family. Women own 142,000 Minnesota firms employing more than 146,000 workers,” continues Dorfman.

“Betty McCollum knows how to get things done in Washington to support her Minnesota community. She is a strong, strategic leader who always acts to support her constituents through policy and practices that support economic opportunity and security for women, families, seniors and businesses.”
