U.S. Women's Chamber Endorses Amanda Renteria for Congress Representing California's 21st District

Amanda Renteria receives a 100% rating from the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce as a champion of women's economic priorities and is endorsed by the Women's Chamber for California's 21st Congressional District.

“I am proud to announce the endorsement of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce (http://www.uswcc.org) for Amanda Renteria in the race for California’s 21st Congressional District,” stated Margot Dorfman, CEO. “Amanda Renteria’s is a gifted leader who is a living example of what is right about America.”

“Amanda Renteria has lived the American dream.  As the daughter of migrant farmworkers, she worked her way up to secure a top-notch education, grow a business, and build a family,” states Dorfman. “After serving on the staff of two women U.S. Senators, she became the first Latina Chief of Staff in the history of the Senate. Now she is ready to leverage all of her experience and her passionate commitment to her community to become a leader in Congress.”

"We need leaders in Washington like Amanda Renteria who have the ability to uplift women and working families. Renteria will never forget her roots and the community she serves. We are proud to endorse her candidacy."

“Amanda Renteria is a champion of families and women’s economic priorities, receiving a one-hundred percent rating from the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce,” continues Dorfman. “Renteria supports a positive economic environment for women workers and business owners, American job creation, fair pay, a fair minimum-wage, family-friendly workplaces, access to affordable/quality healthcare and birth control, tax policies that support a vibrant middle class and access to capital and federal contracts for women-owned firms,” continues Dorfman.

“Amanda Renteria fought to pass the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Violence Against Women Act,” adds Dorfman. “Renteria believes all Americans deserve a fair wage and no one making minimum wage should live below the poverty line.” “As a working mom, she understands that paid leave is essential for working families. And, Amanda understands the 21st District is made up of small towns, not big cities; small businesses are essential to her district and the economy.  She will apply her knowledge and experience to help the small businesses in her community and across the U.S.”

“Growing the number of strong women leaders in Congress is critical to assuring that women’s economic priorities are advanced,” adds Dorfman. “American prosperity is directly linked to the economic success of women. Seventy percent of women work and seventy-two percent of mothers work. A record forty percent of all households with children under eighteen include mothers who are either the sole or primary source of income for their family.  Women own more than one million California businesses employing more than nearly one million workers,” continues Dorfman.

“We need leaders in Washington like Amanda Renteria who have the ability to uplift women and working families. Renteria will never forget her roots and the community she serves. We are proud to endorse her candidacy.”
